English Antique Vintage Oak Joint Stool
A pretty English oak joint stool. These stools were made during the 17th and 18th centuries and were used for all sorts of purposes. They could be used as a stool, a small table, or even a milking stool, however these tended to have 3 legs as they were better on uneven ground.
The turnings are a good quality and are “jointed” at an angle so as to give the stool greater stability. The top has been replaced at some time, as originally the tops to these stool were fixed onto the frame with oak pegs and were not pegged into the top of the legs.
All in all a useful little stool, which can be used for a lot of different purposes in a modern day environment.
