Pair of French vintage beech fauteils, with rush seats.
A stunning pair of French vintage beech fauteils / carvers, with rush seats. The delicate lines of these chairs, give them the feeling of lightness, yet they are beautifully robust. Made from beech, over the years they have built up a good patina and colour.
They are carved with a ” coquille” ( shell) motif on both the top rail and the bottom stretcher rail. The rush seats are in excellent condition, with a good depth of colour.
A good solid, yet delicate pair of chairs, with an abundance of character.
This pair of carvers would closely match the set of 6 single chairs with coquille carving, making a lovely set of 8 chairs.
Dimensions: 89 cm ( 35″) high x 51 cm ( 20″) wide x 46 cm (18″) deep.
