6 French vintage oak carved chairs with rush seats.

A lovely set of 6 French vintage chairs in oak, with rush ( paille ) seats. They have coquille (shell) carved motif on the top rail and front stretcher, sitting on cabriole front legs, with escargot (snail)carved front feet. The carving is of excellent quality. The chairs have a good patina and are a lighter shade of oak in colour.

The drop in rush seats are all in excellent condition. Although quite delicate to the eye, the chairs are extremely robust, being beautifully made, so can be used for every day usage, or would equally suit a more formal setting.

We also have a pair of fauteils, arm chairs, which are similar in syle and colour, which would make up a lovely set of 8 chairs.
