French Antique Cherry Double Extending Table C 1820
A stunning early French antique cherry double extending table, originating from the Brittany region of France. The pale colour and patina of the cherry used to build this table is superb. The top, which is mitre framed, ” coup onglet ” and the extensions, which are also in cherry, sit on a base with good solid tapered legs, ” pieds fuseau “. The timber being hand cut and planed, gives a wonderful rippled effect. A truly lovely period table from the early part of the 19th century.
