French Antique Pine Farmhouse Kitchen Table
A lovely French antique pine farmhouse kitchen table, originating from the Normandy region of France C 1850. This is a good solid rustic kitchen table, but with a touch of class.
The good wide top is built from 5 planks of 3 cm, ( 1 1/4″) thick pine and would have originally been covered with canvas or sail cloth for protection. The nail holes where this covering has been patched, can be seen in small patches on the top. The top has a wonderful slight bow, denoting the age.
The top sits on a pine base, with tapered legs ( pieds fuseau), and a frame that is bracketed on all sides. There is a very deep central drawer 74 cm ( 29″) depth x 49 cm (19″) width, giving loads of storage for cutlery etc.
This exceptional table would complement both a rustic or a more contemporary style kitchen, giving both a sense of charm and history.
