Project Description
French Vintage Style Double Extending Table
Built using traditional methods, this style of French double extending table originates from the beginning of the 19th century and was utilized right up to the beginning of the 20th century.
The two leaves sit snugly under the top, so when not in use are tucked out of the way. Both the leaves of this French Vintage style double extending table, sit on tapered runners, so when extended, they come level with the top, so as to give a totally level extended surface. Either one or both of the leaves can be extended, in order to give another 2 or 4 place settings, more if longer leaves are introduced. There are a pair of thumb screws which keep the top clamped when in use, however when slackened facilitate the movement of the leaves.
