French Antique Style Table with Cabriole Legs
The cabriole leg first became prevalent in furniture design, during the Louis XV period. Originating from the French word ” Cabrioler “, meaning to leap like a goat. The French terminoligy is “Pieds Biche “, meaning doe’s legs, which the shape is supposed to mimic.
The delicate lines of this style of leg, lends itself to more formal dining furniture, or side pieces.
